Chicago date night is a short list of rooms that actually feel like a night out, and a shorter list of clocks you can set a phone by. Ciccio Mio prints one. Monteverde still does not. The notes below were checked on October 19, 2026.
Difficulty on this page is a Midnight Table estimate, not official Resy or OpenTable data, and not a guarantee of a table. Booking notes were checked October 19, 2026. A restaurant can change the window after that.
Alerts is $12 a month and watches the drop. Concierge books in your name, on the restaurant's own platform. Membership and pricing. The Guestlist is the free Thursday letter.
Where a source prints a clock time and leaves off the time zone, the time is quoted that way. These rooms are in Chicago. Confirm the live book before you set an alarm.
Ciccio Mio is the windowless River North parlor, chandeliers and chicken parm, and it is the clearest clock on this list. The reservations page, checked October 19, 2026, says tables are available up to 21 days ahead, each new date at 9 AM CST, and that the booking runs through Resy. Parties are capped at six. Online reservations carry a $5-a-person fee. Walk-ins are not charged that fee. Holiday fees can differ. Lounge seating is the walk-in.
The page writes CST. In October, Chicago local time is Central Daylight Time, which is a different hour from Central Standard Time. The page does not say which clock it means, so be on Resy before 9 a.m. local and stay through the following hour. The about page lists hours as Sunday through Thursday 4 to 10:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 4 to 11 p.m. The restaurant cancels a reservation it finds was sold or traded. The Infatuation’s July 9, 2026 guide still files the room under the city’s toughest books, and under date night.
Monteverde is the West Loop pasta room people mean when they say date night. The reservations page links Resy. The Infatuation’s July 9, 2026 guide does not give a dinner release time. It says the regular dinner book runs months out, that lunch Tuesday through Saturday is the realistic reservation, and that the bar is first come, first served.
Galit, on Lincoln, is the Levantine night that still feels like a neighborhood restaurant. The FAQ, checked October 19, 2026, says Resy reservations are available up to 60 days ahead and does not print the hour. If the time is gone, the restaurant says to hit Notify Me and to allow notifications in the Resy app. Both the dining room and the kitchen counter are on Resy.
Walk-ins are welcome. When the dining room is full, a nine-seat communal table is held first come, first served. That table can take the four-course menu, and à la carte Tuesday through Thursday only. The bar is for guests waiting on a reservation: drinks, not food. Hours on the FAQ are Tuesday through Thursday 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5 to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday 5 to 10 p.m. Monday is not listed. Corkage is $50 a 750ml bottle, two bottles maximum.
Asador Bastian is the River North Basque steakhouse in the 1883 Flair House, the one for a dressed-up steak night. The site, checked October 19, 2026, says reservations are available 30 days ahead and does not say what time that day opens. The upstairs dining room is reservation only. The ground-floor bar room opens daily at 4 p.m., takes walk-ins, and serves the full menu. The reservation link on the site goes to SevenRooms. A ten-seat chef’s table looks into the grill.
Alla Vita is the West Loop Italian to open when Monteverde’s dinner book is already gone. The reservations page, checked October 19, 2026, embeds OpenTable and says reservations are recommended. It does not print a window or an hour. The Infatuation’s July 9, 2026 guide says those OpenTable reservations are released 60 days ahead at 12:01 a.m., and it does not name a time zone. Prime dinner is scarce there, so the practical book is about a month out. The bar and the patio are first come, first served at opening.
Ciccio Mio’s reservations page, checked October 19, 2026, says each new date becomes available at 9 AM CST, up to 21 days ahead, on Resy. Online bookings add a $5-a-person fee. Lounge seats are walk-in, and walk-ins are not charged that fee. In October, Chicago local time is Central Daylight Time, which is not the same hour as CST. The page does not say which clock it means.
What is published for Monteverde, Galit, Asador Bastian, and Alla Vita?

No. Midnight Table sends alerts and helps with planning and booking. Every reservation is made in your own name on the restaurant's own platform. Midnight Table does not buy, hold, or resell tables.
